Doc of The Drakes Fly Fishing Video Part II!

Hit 'em Again Doc! Trailer from Silver Creek Outfitters on Vimeo.

Nobody intended to make a sequel to Doc of the Drakes. It was a coincidence that Silver Creek Outfitters cameras even ended up on the water with Pete and Doc again this past summer. But the hyper-enthusiasm and sincere nature of SCO guide Pete Wood draws attention so easily. Equally engaging is Dr Robert Franklin, who at 85 had been on an incredible journey over the prior 6 months, persuading a panel of neurosurgeons to perform a rare brain stimulation procedure to treat debilitating symptoms he suffered from Parkinson's Disease.

"Salmon Fishing in The Yemen" Movie

Fly Fishing Movies Are Back
I've heard many great things about this movie that has been out now and if you'r elucky enoughto read the book, it's even better!

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen is a 2011 British romantic comedy and drama film directed by Lasse Hallström and starring Ewan McGregor, Emily Blunt, Kristin Scott Thomas and Amr Waked.

Based on the 2007 novel of the same name by Paul Torday, and a screenplay by Simon Beaufoy, the film is about a fisheries expert who is recruited by a consultant to help realize a sheikh's vision of bringing the sport of fly fishing to the Yemen desert, initiating an upstream journey of faith to make the impossible possible. The film was shot on location in London, Scotland, and Morocco from August to October 2010.

The Denver Fly Fishing Show is Back!!

DENVER --

It's back again and better than ever! The Fly Fishing 2013 season is about to begin thanks to Denver's annual Fly Fishing Show  Jan. 4-6 at the Merchandise Mart. Thankfully we do not have to compete with the ISE Sportsman Show again this year...not one single person I know enjoys having both show the same weekend each year.

The show will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday; and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $15 for one day, $25 for two days and $35 for the entire event.

I was lucky enough to have a nice conversation with Chuck Furimsky, the creator and Director, weeks following last years event when he called me up. We talked about the future of fly fishing and also the future of Fly Fishing Shows. We both discussed how having multiple events going on at the same time is not only tough for particpants, but also tough for vendors deciding upon which event to attend since the ISE had once again scheduled their event the same weekend for the same weekend as the Denver Fly Fishing Show.

This years event was fortunate not to have to deal this issue and once and for all, fly fishers can now attend the true Fly Fishing event without having to deal with the ISE taking place the same weekend. FFA is not against the ISE by no means, we are simply for spreading out events so all can benefit and also so the Denver Fly Fishing Show can showcase all that they have to offer!!
